You hold my breath
I possess your tomorrows
Emitting destiny's air

As I stand before you
I can see past forever
When you think of me
Know I reside in your smile

Where there is distance
When there is pain
I'm waiting here

I'm not letting go
To this love we have found
So precious
So real
So ours.

Today I give you my heart
My life in your hands
My promise that angels exist
Because they brought us together.

II

Nature requested an element
A bond that distance can not divide
Stronger than the turbulent sea
Containing charms that surpass coral and urchin
A growth to rival the redwoods
With the delicacy of newborn breath
An essence to frolic in
A nurturing sanctuary
Nature was granted this gift
This gift was love
This love
We have been granted

You Should Know...

You came bearing flowers
Replacing the reaper
With two blue irises
To see past death

You called upon walking giants
To storm across desolate plains
And fought a fortress of
Silent snipers

And yet still
I wonder
How did you get in here?

Hush now.
The natives are sleeping
And when they see their towers torn
And deprived of stone
It won't be just me alone

I will rebuild with your flame
in my heart
For your outstretched hand
Has been de.light.ful
But before I go
I must thank you

Expired wishes
and sour moon
My eternal radiation

"Dreams die
So dream again..."
Your respone to my extinguished debris

who pocket halos
Shed by fallen angels
handing out
wishing well coins

Insist on holding my hand
Through shadows
When it is I who block the sun

Who stroke saints
With syllables
Heavens content

Attempt to strike
sticks together
over my ash
But I will not rise again

But for this
For all of this....

I will always love you

Perhaps it was I who beckoned you
Spelling your name in star soot
then dusting letters away with feathers
Wanting one more dream...

Expired Wishes

Expired wishes littered the sky
I spelled your name in star soot
then dusted them away with fallen feathers

For even angels shed their halos
Eternal radiat(ion) debris
Testaments fade
Even written in stone
They decay

Noise pollution demolished
For any chord would contaminate
Heaven
Beckoning your syllables
your sound

Prints scratching feverishly
pine needles pleading
on window panes
envy walking stems

Detached vines perish
brittle. un -nourished
without the shelter
of earth

apocalypse orange
promotes roaming
declining. dying
human mortality

the spruce lay root
into warm refuge
maturing.ripening
by organic mulch

Only the Wind

There was no welcome
Only the wind
stroking my hair
Breathing for me

Your words are windmills
a quiet force
a gentle breeze
encouraging me forward

To a deadly past

Coffin shopping
in cracked closet doors
I lost myself
somewhere in that clutter

Moans strangled
on hangers
burnt out wicks
on wax I use to wish upon
(for it to stop)

I stepped back
Wanting to crawl into your arms
Let tears freckle my face
and clear the cobwebs from my silenced lungs
that long to say those three words
you never heard from me

you are everything
and nothing
yet you are all I have

But you are just the wind
And weakness is not allowed
So I swallow the truth
and walk into my grave
closing the door
where the wind can not reach me
anymore.
